What is "soil creep"?

Creep

No, it's not an unsavory character - "creep" is a slow downhill movement of the upper soil layers. It's creep that causes fences to drift out of line, gravestones to tip, and trees to slide downhill.

I find this web site very useful. Over the weekends our teachers give us homework and when I don't bring my book home, I know I will find all the information I need to do my homework on this web site.I also find this web site better for science info. beacuse google and ask.com don't have alot of stuff about science on it. Thank you very much for all your help.
